It is great to see so many business doing well. It seems that we rarely hear good news about businesses in today’s media.
I found a complete list of the winners on the Chamber’s Blog at http://blog.ashevillechamber.org/
Let’s compare some newsstand prices.
NY Post – 50 cents; Washington Post – 50 cents; Pittsburgh Post-Gazette – 50 cents; Charlotte Observer – 50 cents; Raleigh News & Observer – 50 cents; Miami Herald – 35 cents.
Many major newspapers charge 75 cents, for example:
The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Dallas Morning News, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, USA Today.
But for a paper as crummy as The Asheville Citizen Times to charge 75 cents? I still buy it every day for 50 cents. But as a matter of principle, I won’t succumb to a 50% increase in price. Good luck to them.
Thank you to all of the Carolina Mornings team members who have helped make this company so successful! Being a leader in Vacation Rentals in and around the Asheville area as well as supporting other local independent business’ has been rewarding. I look forward to another year of success!
We were proud to receive the award for the second year running! It was a great night.
