After 33 years in Asheville, Kostas’ Menswear on Battery Park Avenue has announced that it will be liquidating its merchandise. Sales at the store have already started, I think.

If memory serves, the Kostas property was purchased awhile back and slated for development into condos or something. Maybe it was going to be part of the Tony Fraga Haywood Park redevelopment project. Not sure.

But anyway, if you need to fancy duds, or some store fixtures, you better get downtown.

My oh my, where will the fur protesters go now?

Interesting how styles have changed over the years. Look at a photo of daily street life anywhere 60+ years ago. Even 15 years ago. It’s all a LOT more casual. Fancy pants stores are taking it in the rump. So to speak.
