Rumor control: What’s making the rounds on the Asheville grapevine

Another edition of rumor control, where I throw unsubstantiated stuff that sounds sexy, and have you guys weigh in:

– Mayor vs. Vice Mayor?: Could it be true? Could Asheville City Councilman Jan Davis, the council’s vice mayor, be considering a run against Mayor Terry Bellamy, who is seeking re-election? That’s the talk in some political circles. 

– URTV saga: An anonymous commenter says Ralph Roberts is leaving URTV. I have no idea what that means. Mr. Roberts, would you care to comment? 

– Shuler for senate?: U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler may be reconsidering his March decision not to run for U.S. Senate against U.S. Sen. Richard Burr. Lots of folks think he’s really going to go for it, including me.
