Rumor control: More discussion of an Obama return to Asheville

I’m hearing people around town talking about President Obama returning to Asheville for another stay. Seems way out there, but then again, that’s what I thought when I first heard that the president was coming to vacation here this spring.

I have no doubt that the Obamas will return to Asheville. I’m just thinking it will be next year, or after he’s out of office. But anything’s possible, right?

It’s highly unlikely that he will visit here again as a sitting President. There are just too many other places in this vast country he is more likely to visit before coming back to the mountains.

I think one of the main reasons he came here was to have the opportunity to meet with Billy Graham.

Enough said.

I spoke with one of the chefs at the GPI who said they told them they would be back in 2012. He didn’t say for vacation etc, but that’s what he was told.

I can almost guarantee a few more visits. Even buying a house here is in the future!
