Hi Everyone,
I actually spoke with the developer today at Art in Autumn and this is NOT a rumor. He confirmed that Jack of the Wood is coming to Weaverville with their 2nd location opening Nov 2010 and they will start live music earlier for us here in Weaverville. Also there is going to be a bicycle shop and a home health care office in the same location. I for one am very excited about these new venues.
I think Weaverville needs this in our community. Supporting local business is one way of promoting, fostering, and improving our economy right now! Asheville has plenty of bars and restaurants, but if you live in Weaverville and surrounding communities, then you know how bad we could use a strong local Pub here! I know there are people to support it!! Bring it on!
JAM
Thanks AM!
I know the owner really wants a pub/restaurant in one of the available spaces there, but I don’t think anyone has officially signed on the dotted line yet to make that happen. I’ve heard the Jack of the Wood rumor most often, and also that they’re waiting for the results of Weaverville’s liquor by the drink vote in May before deciding.
Another bar . . . Wow . . . . .
Oversaturation people, oversaturation . . . .
Interest — owner of the building is on the Weaverville ABC
According to a bartender at Dirty Jacks this is just a rumor – nothing solid to back this up. Sorry.
This is awesome news… Nice to know that the economy isn’t hurting everybody and that some businesses are able to expand. Good on them!
Thanks Mark!
Hello,
My wife got the scoop when she bumped into one of the new owners of the firestation building walking our dog . The new place is indeed tied to the Jack of the Wood, the founder of Jack of the Wood is an investor in the renovations. The place will be a pub style restaurant but I do not know if it will be called Jack of the Wood. I also don’t know if it will sell Green Man beers. If I or my wife bump into the person again we’ll get the info. Regardless, I am sure the place will not be that far off from Jack of the Wood. They plan on having live music regularly. A late night place for music and beer is just what Weaverville needs!
