very excited about this! living in kenilworth, this coupled with the former greenlife owner opening a new grocery close by, all bases are covered!
The square footage for that site would be way too small for a Kroger, and it seems unlikely that they would move into this market for just one store. On the other hand, there was a Fresh Market in South Asheville years ago and I never understood why they closed. That kind of space would be ideal for them.
The previous location of the Fresh Market in south Asheville was lousy. It was on Turtle Creek Drive off Hendersonville Road, and the store had zero main road visibility.
South Asheville has grown a lot since that store closed, which was in the mid-1990s.
Man, that’s fantastic!! I live in Morganton but that location would be a lot easier to get to instead of battling Merrimon (especially after Trader Joe’s opens).
