Rumor control: Altamont Studios in Asheville is closing shop

Here’s the unconfirmed rumor from an anonymous source:

Altamont Recording, one of the best recording studios in Asheville, located downtown, is closing. 

Anybody know what’s going on? I’ll be checking. 

Meantime, what else is happening out there?

    That is so depressing. Altamont was one of the best-kept secrets in the Asheville recording scene. Great vibe, lots of vintage gear, and no pretense. I enjoyed the sessions I did there. I’ll hold out hope things may turn around and it can continue operation,
