Story from the Orlando Sentinel:

While he wouldn’t say it was 100 percent for sure, Asheville (N.C) head coach Danny Wilkins confirmed late Saturday night that defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan is leaning heavily toward the Florida Gators. Pagan told numerous Web sites after UF’s spring game on Saturday that he has committed to the Gators.

Pagan told ESPN affiliate GatorCountry.com, “Yes sir, I’m a Gator.”

He also posted on his Facebook page at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, “officially a GATOR!!”

“I think he’s pretty close,” Wilkins said. “We were going to talk about it some more when he got back, but word leaked out pretty fast. I won’t say it’s 100 percent yet, but it is probably the direction he is leaning.”

Pagan, a 6-foot-3, 265 pounder who also plays tight end for Asheville, picked that Gators overs several SEC and ACC schools, and also Notre Dame, USC and Ohio State. He visited Alabama on Thursday, but decided to go with the Gators.

“He’s a great kid, great player,” Wilkins said. “He has good speed and quickness and is very athletic for a player his size. He’s very explosive with a hand on the ground. He’s just relentless … very disruptive.”
