Razcal’s Restaurant in Asheville, NC will celebrate its grand reopening with a party on April 3 2009. The festivities will begin at 6pm, with free samples of a dozen new menu items and a beer tasting from French Broad Brewery. At 9pm, local Motown favorites, West Sound will take the stage for an inspired performance.
Razcal’s is recently under the new ownership of New Orleans native Humphrey Laurent. General managers Erin and Johnny Walker are working with new kitchen manager, Max Hussey to revive the standard bar menu with Cajun style New Orleans standards, as well as one of a kind signature dishes that can only be found at Razcal’s.
Located at the former BB Barnes location, next to the Home Depot in Oakley, Razcal’s is changing both inside and out. The outdoor patio has been redecorated and is ready for spring. There are also picnic tables and horseshoe pits outside. The Razcal’s team has also revamped with brand new games, three pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard, free wireless internet and several new televisions.
Chef Max Hussey brings 12 years of experience in New Orleans to the kitchen in Razcal’s. The new menu items will include the classics like BBQ shrimp, crawfish etouffe, red beans and rice and the ever popular muffaletta. Chef Hussey will also be smoking pork roast, ribs, and chicken daily. There will be weekly menu surprises that will change with the season.
The Walkers are very excited to partner with as many local businesses as possible. Razcal’s has expanded their beer selection to include the French Broad Brewery as well as Appalachian Craft Brewers. The restaurant also looks forward to working with Gladheart Farms to provide fresh vegetables, and Crème Bakery to provide fresh baked bread and soft pretzels.
