Ray’s Weather, a popular site for local weather forecasts, has been down for days but is now back up. Here’s what Ray says happened:

Our extended outage… Two dedicated servers (a web server and a database server physically located in Charlotte NC) power RaysWeather.Com. The hard drive on the web server crashed Sunday morning–particularly bad timing with me in Boston until Tuesday. Our system administrator has rebuilt the site temporarily on the database server while the web server is being fixed. Most items on the site are back to normal; however, a few items may not function properly until we have the web server back online.

In the meantime, Ray is forecasting showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, with Sunday brightening a little bit, although there may still be showers. We’ll have to watch and see what happens. How will the weather affect President Obama’s visit?
