The South Kackalacki-based Dangermuffin will be playing Jack of the Wood on July 18. This Americana/rock band has a gritty sound worth a listen. I don’t think these guys have come through Ashvegas before:

Here’s some of their press release:

Formed in Charleston, S.C., in 2006, Dangermuffin includes Singer/Songwriter Dan Lotti, Lead Guitarist Mike Sivilli and Drummer Jim Donnelly. The band faithfully and repeatedly brings loyal listeners out to haunts like the Charleston Pourhouse, Snapperjacks, and The Brick. Less than six months ago, Dangermuffin gave their fans what they craved with the release of their 10 song debut album “Beermuda,” which found it’s way to radio stations across the country and an understandably warm reception from all who supported the band.

Now, they are at it again with a shocking intensity. Dangermuffin’s second effort, “Emancee,” focuses on Singer/Songwriter Dan Lotti’s conviction concerning the current political situation in America, and freeing oneself with the truth. With “Emancee,” the band also pushes their range by drifting away from their Americana-roots sound into straightforward Rock ‘n’ Roll on several tracks. “Real Monster” is perhaps their biggest departure, which takes a role that is more influenced by the likes of Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket.
