I am starting an official Bring Back Bettes petition. While Cuevas was getting his hair colored, Mikey was in the middle of the hurricane this past weekend kicking ass and looking cute. As you remember, Mike was the weather guy here in Ashvegas a few years ago.
We want him back. So here is the official petition. Once I get about 1,000 signatures (or posts) I’ll print it out and send it to the local TV “news” station, demanding that they do whatever they can to bring back Bettes. I don’t care what it takes. Give him all the mountain bikes and fake Australian girlfriends he wants. Just get his ass back here.
BRING BACK BETTES
We, the people, believing that the local forecasting delivered through Sinclair Broadcasting’s affiliate WLOS has suffered irreparable harm and tremendous loss of credibility since the departure of meterologist Mike Bettes, do hereby petition station management and Mark Hyman to do whatever it takes to bring Bettis back to the mountains.
It is hereby setforth the following:
Whereas Mike Bettes has never colored his hair…
Whereas Mike Bettes looks extremely cute in a rain suit…
Whereas Mike Bettes has never, ever used the word “mountainado”…
Whereas Mike Bettes would occasionally blow a forecast, but always looked so good the next day that we forgot…
and
Whereas the weather is going to continue to kick our ass, so we need someone who knows what they’re doing…
We do hereby submit this petition to Bring Bettes Back to Ashvegas.
Post away people. This is your time to make your voice heard. Copy this link and e-mail it around the world. Somebody send it to Bettes at the Weather Channel so he can e-mail all his weather peeps. Get crackin’, people!

As a friend of Mike Bettes, I believe Mike would be flattered that you want him back in Ashvegas. TWC would feel differently though. Watch TWC in late September and see Mike like you’ve never seen him before!
Considering my birth certificate also says Mike Bettes, I too am inevitably a bad ass. Mike Bettes, you, based solely on your name, deserve not only the meteorologist position, the adoration of the entire public and all the beautiful women you could ever desire. Mike Bettes, you are my hero!

No way! Keep him on the weather channel for all the nation to see. He is the hottest guy there. Go take a seat Cantore, Mike is thenew TWC stud. I want to keep seeing him. To Mike: lets lose the shirt sometime soon.
First off, it’s “Bettes”, not “Bettis”. Second off, I didn’t have a problem with the man so if you want him back in Ashvegas, I have no problem but not at the expense of Cuevas. BTW, trust me on this one…Bettes is making more at TWC and working less days than he did at WLOS. He’s not an idiot for leaving Ashvegas for Atlanta. I’ve heard the stories pertaining to how Bettes got the job at TWC, he wasn’t the first person from this area that TWC was interested in.
Diana, thanks for weighing in. We’ll see how this plays out – if there is, indeed, a groundswell for “Keep Cuevas.”
It’s obvious you got some sort of ‘thing’ for Bettis. But all of my girlfriends and I think Cuevas is way more handsome than Bettis. He also seems more knowledgeable and passionate about the weather. I think being at the weather channel doesn’t make you instantly better. Cuevas is certainly more polished, mature, accurate, and seasoned than Bettis. I did like Bettis, but now that we have seen Cuevas, we know how good a television meteorologist can be. You should start a petition to ‘never let Cuevas go’. Your earlier poll proves that most who read your site prefer Cuevas over all the others, so your voice is among the minority. You gotta love the dimples!
