I’ve always questioned the planners decision to put an apartment complex on the edge of an embankment surrounded by a sea of freeways. We’re they trying to make the people who live there feel like they were cut off and in prison?
well, of the 12 people I saw cross the highway only one went up into Hillcrest, the rest continued along and crossed the river… think they were headed to west asheville to score dope?
That isn’t the only way in to Hillcrest. And I bet if Bill actually followed them into the place, he’d see that they don’t live there and were probably trying to score dope.
I am an Asheville Native and there have been folks crossing in that area for years (even before the interstate was completed).
The gated walk should be reopened, but I think that people will still take the shortest route between 2 points when they are walking.
Well I suppose if that’s the only way for people to get across they’ll continue to do it, until they have another way. Has there been any news on the progress to reopen the bridge?
