npr_2013_wcqsThe line-up for the much-anticipated Thursday live performance of NPR’s popular Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me in Asheville’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium is as follows: panelists Roxanne Roberts, Brian Babylon and Bobcat Goldthwait. The “Not My Job” contestant will be local author Charles Frazier, who wrote one of my favorite books of all time, Cold Mountain.

That’s not all. WCQS will hold a listening party on Saturday at The Orange Peel. Here’s the press release from WCQS:

Join us at 10:30 a.m. on August 3 at The Orange Peel to celebrate one of our most popular shows! WCQS listeners have been buzzing about Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me! since we announced the show’s August 1 live performance in Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. The show sold out in just over a day and will once again bring national attention to our neck of the woods when it broadcasts over NPR stations on August 3. WCQS and The Orange Peel want you to be part of the excitement!

Mingle with BJ Leiderman (theme composer of many NPR shows including WWDTM), WCQS on-air personalities, President/CEO Jody Evans and other public radio fans at The Orange Peel (101 Biltmore Ave, Asheville) during a Saturday morning listening party. Doors open at 10:30, with the show airing at 11. A cash bar will be available.

Popular vintage t-shirts, tote bags and bumper stickers from past WCQS fund drives will be available for purchase. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Donations help fund programming and operations of your public radio station, which serves 15 Western North Carolina counties.
