New florist opening up on Merrimon Avenue

I noticed recently that there’s a new florist opening up in what I think used to be the space housed by the Paris Bakery (I’m not sure about this), just down the hill from Claxton Elementary School.

The little store was rammed by a car a couple of years ago and the damage really messed up the building. The folks in the building up and left, and the storefront became a real eyesore. The damage remained, and the store got covered up in graffiti.

That’s why I noticed the florist. The ugly graffiti was gone. Beautiful new flowers were being moved in. Great!

Anybody have details on the new north Asheville florist?

I think the Merrimon Florist is in the old Insty-Prints building – or whatever that copy shop was.

Looks like the old Paris bakery is still there and about to fall down. I think the florist you must have seen is Merrimon Florist, which I believe has been there about 3 years.
