New church, West Asheville Vineyard, prepares to open on Haywood Road

The West Asheville Vineyard church, at 717 Haywood Road, has a sharp-looking website. Here’s a blurb:

Trust us…this was not on our radar 5 years ago. My wife, Erica, is a social worker and I am a forest scientist. This really wasn’t part of “the plan,” so to speak.

The short answer is we believe we have discovered something in Jesus that is worth sharing. Additionally, the way in which Jesus relates to us and we relate to him really isn’t being discussed in many places.

We aren’t trying to persuade, arm-twist, or convince anyone that we are “right” and everyone else is wrong. We aren’t here to condemn or chastise anyone. We know that happens in some faith circles. We simply want to add meaning to the conversation that is already happening and create a community that contributes love and compassion to West Asheville.
