A brew pub being put together in Weaverville by the owner of the popular Jack of the Wood brew pub in Asheville is coming together, according to MyWeaverville.com. Rumor has it that it may open by St. Paddy’s Day. Meantime, MyWeaverville says it has confirmed the name of the new joint:

We do have a name for the new place. The unofficial name for the new Jack of the Wood location will be… The Fiddle and Plow I like it. It’s very Appalachian.

    It's official…

Jack of Hearts Pub and Restaurant, the long-awaited cousin to Jack of the Wood in Asheville, will open in early April in the old Weaverville firehouse at 10 S. Main St.

The rustic, 1917 building, under renovations for months, has been transformed with many modern touches, including old sycamore bars, local art, a large outdoor deck, a state-of-the-art sound system for live music and a full kitchen serving locally sourced classic American cuisine.

We look forward to seeing you here!

I'm tuning up, and it is time to sow the fields…
