Mumpower gets equal time on Monday Night Football

The reader tips keep pouring in. Loyal reader Catnap says that Asheville City Councilman Carl Mumpower was mentioned on Monday Night Football last night. 

Mumpower, as you know, is running for the 11th Congressional District seat here in the mountains against U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler. Shuler was a star football player at Swain County High School who went on to star at Tennessee and then play briefly in the NFL. Which explains how Mumpower’s name came up on Monday Night Football.
