More on the recent visit of ‘Project Runway’ personalities and fashionistas Santino and Austin

I think I’ve pretty well pieced together the episode of the new reality show On the Road with Austin and Santino, a makeover show featuring former Project Runway stars Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice. The two were in and around Asheville last week to film an episode. They weren’t eager to talk about the show because they don’t want to ruin the surprise. But plenty of other people have been talking on Facebook, Twitter and blogs. This is what I’ve got.

The name of the woman who got the big makeover is Nancy. It’s my understanding that she’s recovering from an illness. The episode is based out of Black Mountain, so I’m assuming that’s where she lives.

Austin and Santino bought fabric to make Nancy some new clothes from Waechter’s Fabrics in Biltmore Village. Nancy got her hair and make-up done at Adorn Salon on College Street, if an encounter that blogger bud Robin had is any indication. 

Nancy’s coming out party will be held Sept. 4, and will be filmed as part of the show. Cost is $25. Proceeds will benefit Full Moon Farm, which is dedicated to protecting wolf dogs.
