The anticipation is killing me. Don’t forget tonight’s pre-party at The Southern on Lexington Ave. Some of what’s being said about Moogfest 2010:

-From AmericanSongwriter.com:

The party-heavy lineup for MoogFest also points to the growing popularity of electronic music in the U.S., which seems to finally be catching up with Europe, where big electronic and dance festivals – such as Mayday, Love Parade and NatureOne in Germany; Electric Picnic in Ireland – have been the norm for years.

-From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

The event also is set to bring thousands of people, and their cash, into downtown bars, shops, restaurants and hotels, and could cement Asheville’s reputation as a thriving, creative home for music lovers and music makers alike.

The exposure will have a rippling economic and cultural impact that’s not yet been tallied.

“These kinds of events elevate Asheville as a music destination and also help raise awareness of Asheville’s ties to Moog,” said Marla Tambellini, assistant vice president of marketing and public relations at the Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau.

-From the Blue Banner:

(Jeff) Cuellar (spokesman for event promoter AC Entertainment) said, in his opinion, the 2010 Moogfest is going to be a festival like nothing Asheville, or even this country, has experienced before.

“This year, I do think it’s being stepped up quite a bit,” he said. “Two days of panels and workshops and chances for people to interact with the actual instruments as well as ask questions, it’s going to be amazing. It’s completing the overall experience.”
