Added 10:08 a.m. Tues: The rumor that Sesame Street Live was canceled for the Romney appearance doesn’t seem to be true. The whole series of Sesame Street performances has been canceled (not just Thursday), and there is no performance listed for Thursday.

I suppose this is the only way to get people out of their gated communities on the outskirts of the county and into downtown Asheville. Hope they spend some of their money in the restaurants and local businesses. Wow, for some it could be their very first trip into the REAL Asheville.
And if you see those people from the gated communities, be sure to thank them for paying 90% of the federal income tax in the country. This of course is how the people living in the “Real Asheville” can avail themselves of a menu of free government services all while sitting in the park smoking, protesting, urinating and defecating on the streets, and so many other activities that don’t involve actually working.

… according to the Civic Center box office manager, the event was canceled 2 weeks ago due to lack of ticket sales.

Suggest ashevilles name be changed to the whiney city. Drove through there recently and everybody on the radio was whining about something! U folks need to get a life!
