The Miss Gay Latina pageant will be held tonight in downtown Asheville at the Diana Wortham Theatre. It’s shaping up to be a premiere event – it’s a sold-out show, and local filmmaker Rod Murphy will be filming as part of a documentary he’s making about this little-known slice of Asheville.

You can watch the event live via Twitter. Asheville photographer Bill Rhodes will be live tweeting the event. He did the same on Friday night for rehearsal. Above is one of the photos he shot. Click here to see his flickr photos. Follow his coverage of the pageant at twitter.com/ashevillein.

The show was amazing. You could feel the love. Miss Vanessa's Vogue number was a triumph. Miss Nicole literally made my jaw drop. Miss Venezuela had a lot of sincerity, I"m glad she won, but my vote went to Miss Honduras for creative daring and charisma.
