COGBURN HEARING SET; ACS EVENT ADDRESSES LAME DUCK NOMINEES

NCBA member Max O. Cogburn of Asheville, nominated in May to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of N.C., will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a confirmation hearing this Wednesday. In related news, the Washington-based American Constitution Society for Law and Policy will host an event Thursday to discuss the fate of lame duck judicial nominees such as NCBA members Albert Diaz (4th Circuit) and Catherine Eagles (Middle District). Panelists include ABA President-Elect Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III who will also appear at the 2011 NCBA Annual Meeting, scheduled June 23-26 in Ashville. Access the link below for more on the ACS event.
