From loyal reader Marc:

For the past few years, a few dozen of us mom and pops have been knocking around the idea of starting an Independent Video Store Day. Thanks to a Facebook group, we now have more “doers” than “talkers” so the date was set. Come out this Saturday to either Orbit DVD or TV Eye and celebrate the 1st Annual Video Store Day! Here’s the deals that we are offering…

25% off EVERYTHING for sale

Our popular subscription plans will be 1/2 off

Free kids rental

Repair your scratched discs 2 for the price of 1 (limit one)

Internet only offer: pay off your late fee for $1! (up to $40 with mention of this post)

This is just what we are offering, but I want to encourage everyone to go to your favorite local video store on Saturday and at least rent a movie, even if it’s not us. We have seen people coming back into our stores after last month’s Netflix fiasco, and we are reminding them that as long as we are around, you have affordable options.

thanks!

  1. Orbit DVD October 17, 2011

THANK YOU for everyone who came out on Saturday and made this event a success. This year was the first and a little ramshackle, but we are already planning bigger things for 2012.
