They’re remaking Kolchak. I’m not sure what I think about that.

I do know that I loved the Night Stalker/Kolchak TV series – it scared the crap out of me as a kid, but in a fun way. It was campy and weird and pulpish and I loved it. The show was credited by Chris Carter, creater of the X-Files, as having inspired him. I also loved the X-Files.

Now Kolchak is coming back to TV. I’m not sure exactly when, but I saw a TV ad recently, so it must be soon. Remakes are rarely as good as the original, but I’ll give it a shot. I’ll also be in line when they release the original on DVD, which is supposed to happen in October. Go here and here for more on Kolchak.
