This is one of the most slickly produced Kickstarter videos I’ve seen lately, from two former UNC Asheville students who are asking the public to help fund their next movie project. Check it.
Here’s more about the duo, Craig Thieman and Ethan Hunter:
Director Craig Thieman has been working in and studying film for the past eight years. For the last seven years he has owned and operated a video production company where he directed and produced over 50 television commercials. Last year he won Silver ADDY awards for four of his commercials. During this period he’s done camera work for MTV, SPEED channel, Island Def Jam Records, and Inside Edition.
Writer Ethan Hunter is most well known as the writer/director of the acclaimed, multi-award winning feature film “For Catherine”. Made for under five-thousand dollars, “For Catherine” spent about a year playing to standing-room-only audiences at film festivals across the country before it was picked up for distribution by Passion River Films. It has gone on to screen on every continent but Antarctica.
Hunter and Thieman began making movies together as students as UNCA. This is their first collaborative feature.

LOVE LETTER is an independent feature film shooting this summer in Wilmington, NC. It’s a dark comedy/thriller from award-winning director, Craig Thieman (Emily) and award-winning writer, Ethan Hunter (For Catherine), starring award-winning actor, Nate Panning (Doraleous and Associates, Battlefield Friends), and a whole lot of other super talented people we hope to hire REALLY soon. We’ve been working on the thing for three years now and we are so close to doing something we think could be really special. We just need a little help to get us across the finish line.
