Sounds like a cool event. Press release here:
Asheville Americana favorites The Honeycutters open for Nashville veteran Tommy Womack on Friday, Nov. 19 at an intimate-but-public house concert in the River Arts District.
Sara Day Events presents a cozy, community-focused evening of soulful music, friends and food for mind, body and soul. The $15/$18 ticket price includes the doubleheader roots music show, “basic yummies” and some beverages. People are encouraged to bring a dish to share and BYOB. Bring a chair or cushion!
Singer-songwriter Womack is a two-time Nashville Scene Best Songwriter winner. The Village Voice says: “Think Spalding Gray, if he grew up in Kentucky with a guitar and a vinyl copy of Black and Blue.”
“Amanda Anne Platt is easily one of the best songwriters coming out of Western NC these days. She really needs to be discovered by the national Americana world. Her moving delivery, accompanied by Pete James’ tasteful guitar work and harmonies, make The Honeycutters an act that really should not be missed. We can’t stop playing their CD ‘Irene’ here at WNCW!” – Martin Anderson, Music Director, WNCW
This event marks the public unveiling of a new line of custom-made guitar chairs for professional musicians, produced here in Asheville by the Boggs Collective, an award-winning, local, sustainable woodworking collective.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 day of the show. Advance tickets are available at Short Street Cakes (225 Haywood Rd.) noon – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only, or directly from Sara Day. Support local and indie music, and artisan woodworking!

we've moved the event, due to a permitting delay at pink dog, to phil mechanic studios, flood gallery, 109 Roberts St. but hey, it's great cuz there's more space and we've now got a keg of beer for our guests (donated by johnson's crossroad!). and for any inconvenience, we'll honor the $15 rate on day of show. see you there!
This event has MOVED to the Flood Gallery at Phil Mechanic Studios — down the street from Pink Dog in the River District, brick bldg on the corner of Haywood and Roberts!
