Story here:

AVERY COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – Breaking news out of Avery County: WBTV has learned of a house explosion in the area of Gusher’s Knob.

It happened just before 7 pm.

Few details have been released, but investigators say there’s a possibility that the explosion was caused by dynamite kept under the home. Sources say it’s possible that not all of the dynamite has been detonated.

A Haz Mat team has been called in from Asheville to assist with the scene.

So far, there are no reports of injuries.

Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye told WBTV deputies are on the scene assisting in the fire investigation.
