Asheville Brewers Alliance, the trade group of Western North Carolina breweries and associated businesses, is recruiting for the position of Director, with the primary job focus as a Communications & Marketing Coordinator.
This position is Part-time (15-20 hours per week), and requires a self-starter personality with the ability to interface with many different personalities with efficiency, patience, and organization. Experience in the non-profit field would be helpful as the ABA is a non-profit group operated by an elected Board of Directors. There is an art to managing the needs and concerns of a multi-member Board and those skills of tact would be most helpful for this position.
Our ideal candidate would have extremely strong organization and clear communication skills, marketing experience, and the required knowledge of the necessary computer programs to handle all the needs detailed below.
And of course, a respect of Beer and the Asheville community is a given.

General and Communication Coordinating Duties Include:
Represent the Board of Directors to the membership.
Act as a communication “hub”, disseminating information to the membership regarding Alliance and/ or Board activities.
Act as a liaison with city and county governments and Asheville trade group organizations (ADA, AIR, etc.) on behalf of the ABA.
Attend regular board meetings as a non-voting member.
Work in conjunction with the officers in ensuring the smooth daily operation of Alliance affairs.
Assist the Beer Week Committee in organizing the annual event.
Marketing Coordinator Duties Include:
Create and maintain public relations materials (i.e. press releases and fact sheets.)
Create and update content on the Association’s official website.
Design and edit official newsletter and additional correspondence.
Coordinate affiliate and sponsor activity.
Develop and maintain a list of media, government, and community contacts.
Act as a liaison with the Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Attend regular Marketing Committee meetings and board meetings as a non-voting member.Work in conjunction with the marketing committee chair in performing the above duties and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the Association office.
Perform other duties as required.
