Jennifer Saylor says that for the first time ever, Asheville will celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charlotte Street Park.

That’s exciting. It’s going to be hard to compete with the Naked Bike Ride, but hey. To each her own. Here’s more:

Knitters do it once a year. In the park. And everybody likes to watch.

Bring a chair or blanket lunch/something to drink/cooler/snacks to share… yarn to swap or give away…

Show the world that knitting is alive, well and public. All crafters and yarnworkers welcome — newbies too!

    you’re welcome!
yeah, it would be cool if there could be some synergy – maybe you could knit them some little thongs or something.

Dude, thanks so much for your support. I wish we were knitting on Biltmore Ave. so the bike riders could ride past us.
