The upcoming blogger gathering, dubbed Spookyblogapaloozananny, is going to be lots of fun. There will be music and crazy jugglers and lots of tweeting peeps.
But it’s a party with a purpose. We’re raising money for the AHOPE homeless shelter. We’re asking for $10 donations at the door and we’ll be holding a raffle. The big prize? An amazing painting by Asheville artist Genie Maples. I’ll let her tell you about it:
Here’s the painting of mine we’re raffling (along with other prizes) at the Spookyblogapalooza party to benefit AHOPE. 24×24 inches, oil, retails for $2400. Tix can be purchased at the event, or contact me for presales.
Incredible. Wow. I’m speechless. Contact Genie on Facebook here. Genie’s blog is here. Genie is a little shy, but she’s been hanging with local bloggers pretty much since we started getting organized four years ago. Shower Genie with your love and praise. She’s earned it, deserves it.
In summary:
I know you want to party with a purpose. I know you want to meet smart and interesting local artists, photographers, writers and every other title that “blogger” or “tweeter” encompasses. I know you want attend a fun pre-Halloween gathering of Asheville’s finest. And I know you want to win that Genie Maples.
So come on down to the Pump Gallery at the Phil Mechanic Building – they are our wonderful hosts. The event starts at 7 p.m. All the details at BlogAsheville.
Did I mention that you can vote for your favorite area bloggers and tweeters? Yes, you can, and we’ll hand out awards at the event.
