It's a sad day when you see someone hatin' on the Harvest boys.
Nice grown up response there, throw that hissy fit.
Wow, if I didn't have a job currently I would be the first one to submit my application! For those who have commented negatively, you obviously have no idea how respected Harvest is regionally, and how great an opportunity this will be for someone to get involved with a great small business. I would imagine this news made Ashvegas' blog because it is quite a big deal that they are hiring, as tons of people would love to work there. They put their extra time and hard work into a number of things around town that create and add excitement to our community. Seriously, Transfigurations? That festival was fuckin' awesome. What other record store (or any business for that matter) has been able to pull off an event like that at such an early stage?
Good luck to all applicants, I'm jealous…
wow! "record stores are a dying business"? yeah, i guess that's what the moral of this story is…. since we (harvest) are actually creating a job for asheville — yes, a part-time one, but certainly with the potential of growing into full-time. our business has expanded into various facets beyond general retail, and is growing each year…. but you wouldn't know that, would you, "pimpmeout"? do you live in asheville? do you do anything all day besides sit on your computer and comment on blogs? congrats!
it's honestly not even worth an argument, because anyone (pimpmeout, murphy to be exact) sitting around spreading negative energy about a great local business on a great local blog is just…. well….. sad. ("pitiful", indeed!)
and we haven't gotten to where we are today by fumbling around and bitching for the past 6 years. we're active individuals trying to create positive experiences in our community…just like jason & tons of other friends/acquaintances running & supporting local asheville businesses. so needless to say, i've ALREADY stooped low to even respond to you guys. certainly won't be doing this again.
Ha! I found this post cause I googled ‘harvest records hiring’ to see if y’all were looking for someone. For the record, I’m sort of a collector who’d love nothing more than to take part in your “dying business” however you need me. I know it’s been awhile, but respond back and ill email/tweet you a link to my resume.
Thanks Ashvegas/Harvest! Keep doing what you’re doing.

This says an awful lot about the very SAD state of the economy in Asheville. I'm guessing it pays only slightly above minimum wage for a part-time job. And record stores are a dying business anyway you look at it. This is pitiful.
GOOD ONE "MURPHY"
ha!
A resume to work part-time in a record store …. only in Ashvegas.
