I wonder how many employee's willlose their jobs in just one day…10-20? Grove Park Inn the revolving door resort.
They give you these velour bean bags to wear around your neck that smell like apple pie when you heat them up in the microwave. Just take those home with you, along with the robe and footwear and it brings the costs down a bit.
I think the mold problem was finally fixed, but you don't ever really get rid of it completely, especially in a warm and wet place like a spa. We had a friend who stayed there last year and she said the spa was ok, but nothing really great like the high end spas in other places. I've never seen the Grove Park Inn's spa listed on the survey of best spa and resorts in the US in Travel & Leisure magazine. Yes, it is quite expensive.
I'm still wondering about the nasty problems they had with mold at the spa shortly after it opened. I know some people who used to work there and they said it was much worse than anyone could have imagined. Sure hope it was finally cleaned up. I know too that the spa never really paid off for GPI the way it was envisioned. Compared to many other hotel spas, the one at the GPI is pretty average, but still pretty expensive.
