Press release below. WLOS did this story awhile back, and noted that the car was actually owned by Mrs. Sammons, the owner of the Inn who died not too long ago.

The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa has added a sweet new ride as part of  the National Gingerbread House Competition™ — the Gingerbread Mobile! The brightly decorated 1996 Lincoln Town Car brought a bit of bling to the 17th annual National Gingerbread House Competition™.

The car is decorated with candy canes, gum drops, gingerbread cookies and fun phrases like “Can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Car.”

The new Gingerbread Mobile made its public debut as it went on display in the courtyard at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa on Nov. 16 during judging for the National Gingerbread House Competition™. In addition to appearing at the 2009 Asheville Holiday Parade and at the premier for the new RFTV cooking show “Southern Fresh with Tim & Jan” in Lenoir, the new Gingerbread Mobile is available for other special event appearances throughout the year.

For more information, please contact The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa at 800.438.5800 or 828.252.2711 or visit http://www.groveparkinn.com.
