Got this great note from loyal reader Jeff recently:

Hey Ashe ~ This afternoon I spotted a really pretty lady leading a group that was painting over particularly lame graffiti on a warehouse on Lyman St. (down along the river near Asheville Waste Paper Recycling.)  This was at about 3 p.m. in the blazing hot sun.  They are volunteers from Asheville Greenworks.  I stopped to tell them “thanks” and snapped a few shots.  Please give this fine organization a shout out if you can. ~ Thanks  ~ Jeff

Great work to Asheville Greenworks!

So long to Rubbish, now if a motavated group of people can do something about the other sad art that infests this town, we will be on to something.

Did they take down the last three remaining (to my knowledge, in Asheville) Charlie Chaplin pieces of the artist Ishmael that were on that building?

I’d be curious to know if the property owner requested it, or if they approached the property owner.

That’s great. I’ve been thinking about doing that. I despise tagging, especially when they tag the beautiful old buildings, but I like good graffiti art.
