With the deadline fast approaching for cities to get themselves nominated for Google’s 1 gigabit fiber initiative, the full-court press is on to spread the word about why Google should pick Asheville.

One easy way to do that is for bloggers and webmasters to install a cute little button on their sites. Go to www.googleavl.com right now and pick the button you want and get it posted. It’s a simple copy-and-paste procedure. Then check out the site and note that you can fill out a nomination form if you haven’t already, and generally Facebook and Twitter the hell out of why Google should choose Asheville for its fast-fiber initiative.
