Ashvegas wants everybody to be on George Clooney watch, OK? That’s because the Sexiest Man Alive is going to making a movie all around us.

The picture is called “Leatherheads,” and it’s supposed to be about a professional football league in the 1920s. He’s supposed to both direct and star in this flick. It’s a “romantic comedy,” with Renee Zellweger as Clooney’s co-star.

You can go to Charlotte today (Sat. Jan. 6) and audition as an extra. The moviemakers are looking for extras of “all types and ages” and “character faces.” They’re also looking for vehicles dated up to 1925, including motorcycles and fire trucks. You can bring photos with you or e-mail production at [email protected]. The casting call will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart, 2500 E. Independence Blvd. in Charlotte.

There’s another casting call scheduled for Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Greenville, S.C. at thePalmetto Expo Center–Hall A, 1 Exposition Ave. (use Eisenhower Drive entrance).

Moviemakers have been scouting locations all around us – Salisbury, Spencer, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Statesville and locations in South Carolina.

So we’re sure that the fun-loving Clooney will drop in on Ashvegas to check out the mountains, have a few beers and check out the hippie chicks. If anybody has a George Clooney sighting, let us know.

If you do see the George, invite him down to Drinking Liberally. He’s notoriously left-leaning, and I’m going to give him a piece of my mind for stealing my look.
