I noticed the copyright at the end of the video was Melo Films, copyright 2007. Did they pay for the rights or get permission to use the "copyrighted" music included in the "commercial"? Why couldn’t they have come up with some original music and creative lyrics instead of ripping off and juxtaposing other people’s music that they have no right to use in this manner. If I’m mistaken, I apologize. The same point goes to some of the bands I see performing other artists music and airing it on URTV. I’m sure URTV doesn’t pay fees for an annual BMI or ASCAP licensing agreement. They should only air the bands that are creative enough to produce their own music and then get their permission to videotape and air them. Besides, who wants to see local bands doing cover tunes, how boring is that! We’ve got so much unusual talent in this town, why go for the easy pickings that don’t really deserve the exposure. Again if I’m wrong, I take it all back. With much love to all, HG.
