From Asheville to Australia: The video application

Applications to the “Best Job in the World” closed over the weekend, and I think I got mine in just under the wire. I got a confirmation from the Web site, but have not yet received a confirmation e-mail. The site, islandreefjob.com, was slammed with last-minute filers like me, so I may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Last I checked, the site had received something like 34,000 applications, so we’ll see.

Regardless, here’s my video. I’ve got to give major props to Jon for helping me out, and to Janna and Stu Zonder, who provided me with the original song in the video. Stu is the “dude walking” in the video.

Despite what the screenshot you see above might suggest, this video is work safe! 🙂

As for the vid, yeah, it worked for me, all cute and charismatic. Made me wanna vote for you, if not quite toss cash and fame your way. But I’m concerned about the stats. Out of 30k, might others have submitted similarly self-deprecating skits? It’s all just, so… well, British. O’ course, Aussies is closer to Brits than we Amuricans is to either, so way to work that angle. Seriously, though, if I were a ‘roo charged with picking someone to make me a truckload of cash by publicly playin’ n’ chillin’ n’ dinin’ n’ partyin’, I’d pick you. You look like you could use it, mate.
