This is possibly the most Ashveille app ever made. If you read this while eating tempeh or wearing organic cotton, triple Asheville score.

Get Appalachian Grown for iPhone (no Droid version yet) as the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) turns its popular Local Food Guide into an app. The app lists CSAs, provides directions to farmer’s markets, wineries, roadside stands and u-pick spots, and even tells you what’s in season in WNC.

From iTunes:

Finding truly local food has never been easier. ASAP’s well-known Local Food Guide—a guide to Appalachian Grown certified farms, farmers markets, roadside stands, restaurants, grocers, and more—is now an app!
Features:
-Locate and navigate to local farms, farmers markets, restaurants, grocers, B&BS, and the list goes on.
-Discover what’s in season and find your way to it.
-Learn about your farmer and the local businesses that purchase their products.
-Map your route for ASAP’s annual Farm Tour.

ASAP is providing this app free of charge to help you discover local food. Help support our efforts by making a donation to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food.
