Here’s the only shot I’ve found of me crossing the finish line on Saturday at the Hot Chocolate 10K race in Asheville. The photo comes courtesy of a post by www.old-runner.com, a great blog by a runner

It was my first ever 10K, and I finished in 50:37. I was happy with that, as I did zero running training. That’s right – I didn’t do any running training leading up to the race.

I did do CrossFit training, and I give CrossFit all the credit for getting me in great overall physical condition to be able to take on something like running as fast as I can for 6 miles.

Check out CrossFit Asheville. Their classes for beginners the next couple of months have already filled up, but they’ll be adding more. It’s never too late to start on your fitness goals.
