For the final time this year, Aloft Asheville Downtown will open its rooftop Air Level to the public for a Sunday, Oct. 26, event featuring a doggie Halloween costume contest, local music and the release of an exclusive Highland Brewing seaonal beer.

Live@Aloft will be held from 4-8 p.m. on the rooftop Air Level. The Asheville band Empire Strikes Bass, a 10-piece New Orleans brass funk band, will provide the musical entertainment.

A $5 donation is suggested, with proceeds going to support the nonprofit Charlies Angels Animal Rescue. Visitors to Live@Aloft are encouraged to bring their dogs and dress them up for a “howl-oween” costume contest.

Aloft Asheville Downtown has partnered with the nonprofit for the past few months by hosting dogs up for adoption in its second-floor lobby. The collaboration has resulted in quick adoptions. Aloft Asheville is a pet-friendly property that provides guests with a gift bag for their dogs, and the Air Level has a designated puppy path on artificial turf.

The party will also serve as the official release of Pumpkin on the Ledge, a seasonal brew made by Highland Brewing exclusively for Aloft Asheville Downtown. Light snacks and a cash bar will be available, and visitors can warm their hands around the Air Level fire pit as they sip.

This is the last of three Live@Aloft events, a series that manager David McCartney said has been a big hit.
“Our Live@Aloft Sunday events have been a tremendous success. We appreciate our guests and customers attending and enjoying themselves while helping us support Homeward Bound last month and Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue this month,” McCartney said.

“Part of the reason we opened the Air Level to the public was because we had so many requests from local residents, and they’ve responded by coming out,” McCartney added.

The Air Level, also known as Aloft’s pool deck, has only been open to hotel guests and for invitation-only events until the Live@Aloft series. The space affords spectacular views of the mountains surrounding downtown Asheville.
Aloft owner-developer John McKibbon said the Live@Aloft gives Aloft Asheville Downtown another way of connecting with its vibrant community.

“The Aloft provides outstanding accommodations for out-of-town guests,” McKibbon said. “Creating a rooftop venue and event that local residents can enjoy is also important to our mission.”
