Here’s a copy of an email I received. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it doesn’t sound good:

This just in from a URTV staff person:

Jonathon Czarny <[email protected]> reply-to [email protected] to date Fri, May 22, 2009 at 9:51 PM subject URTV Closed Saturday hide details May 22 (3 days ago)

Hey All, URTV will close tomorrow; Saturday May 23, 2009. We will be open for normal hours of operation Tuesday from 1pm – 10pm. Hope the weather is nice so everyone can enjoy Memorial Day. ………………………………………………………………. Also, I regret to inform everyone that the website, webcasting, VOD, and URTV Forums are down indefinitely. I will let everyone know what is up once I know. Jonathon Czarny Operations Manager, URTV 31 College Place Suite 20-A Asheville, NC 28801 _________________________________ VOD is still up, but very jerkly and keeps reverting to the beginning. Also all Ralph Robert’s programming is missing. Ralph pretty much handeled the website, webcasting, & VOD.

Bulldog, URTV is local public access television. You should care because it’s your money. The station is supported by your tax dollars, as well as a fee that Charter Cable charges you.

What is URTV? Who is Ralph Roberts? Why should I care if Ralph took his VOD and went home?

It would be great if this fell apart nothing of any value to the community. Turn that station over to something worthwhile.

I just went to URTV.org and was redirected to URTVWEB.com and everything seems to be working fine? If it’s true about Ralph, well then we could all be spared the boring travels of Rapid Ralph, and that’s a GOOD thing.

Yes. Ralph Roberts was in charge of all of those things and has submitted his resignation stating that he is withdrawing all of his services, resigning from the board, resigning his membership at URTV and making a "clean break."

    Go figure.
