Donut truck

They opened on Merrimon Avenue this morning. They’ll open a store in Biltmore in December. More stores next year.

Perhaps dates may rival in sweetness, but not in fun!

On rare occasions, my mother used to make doughnuts at home. The smell of freshly made doughnuts on a gloomy autumn day was like a blessing. Made life bearable for a while in our shitty, crowded dump of a house…

I imagine the giddy crackhead I saw there this week who got her order, went outside to cram it down her gullet, then returned to get back in line, knows whereof I speak!

Gotta go — my boss literally just walked in here eating a Dunkin’ Donut, saying he’s got coffee, bagels and doughnuts out there for everyone. Damn! I need to get stock in this sucker!

haha, no carrot sticks peppermint patties, yum
saying ‘have a date’ is too ambiguous and medjools are totally delicious & rival a donut in sweetness

A medjool date?! I bet you gave out carrot sticks on Halloween…

I prefer to leave the moderation to the individual…but then again, I always thought that world peace could be achieved if you could just get Reagan & Gorbachev to sit down at the table with a plate of Klondike bars…

you know what else is no fun? indigestion, hyperactivity, energy crash, tooth decay & obesity 🙂 i’m a fun person, honest! – you want something sweet, have a medjool date or a apples w/ cinnamon not a greasy corporate frosted ring of dough 🙂 🙂

just saying dunkin donuts is not all sprinkles & spice, there’s a dark side. everything in moderation – sure – but why? and why does asheville need a bunch of them spreading all over in the next year?

Ha! First off a 7-11 has slurpies and I love a cherry slurpie on a hot summer day. They have perfected it and I am ashamed to be so excited.

Yes I buy local every chance I get, but the truth is I like Dunkin Donuts and slurpies. I like candy corn as well…

i’m personally glad to have another alternative to FOURBUCKS, local or not, and i personally feel Dunkin’ Donuts’ coffee is better than Starbucks. At least it tastes like coffee… most Starbucks all tastes the same, BURNT, and that’s coming from someone who likes dark roast coffee. i prefer Green Mountain coffee (Bruegger’s has it) overall. Dunkin’ Donuts is a welcome addition to this side of town, IMHO. i don’t partake in donuts for health reasons, but if you want them, you should be able to get them. since sister’s mcmullen quit making them fresh, at least there’s a choice on this side of town.

I have oodles of fun, and it’s clear you have fun about the DD. I just don’t get it is all. I’m no stick, just another ignorant brother.

Yeah, folks have a sentimental thing for these chains. I don’t pretend to get it. Donuts are fat bombs, and we’ve got good coffee coming out our ears in this town.

    And a 7-11? I can’t imagine what that’s all about.

    But it’s diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks, I suppose.

great, have some deep fried sugar and white flour – i don’t see this as a positive thing for asheville. nostalgia aside, the product that dunkin donuts sells hurts people. also snagging up that part of merrimon with people trying to turn left over double yellow lines.
