Dozens of street performers planning to descend on downtown Asheville tonight as part of Hatch extrava

Word on the street is that dozens, and perhaps 100 or more, street performers are planning to descend upon downtown Asheville tonight in celebration of the Hatch networking and creativity weekend here in town.

Headed up by the amazing Graham Hackett of the Asheville Area Arts Council, the plan was to create a circus-like atmosphere in downtown Asheville. Street performers of all stripes – buskers, stilt-walkers, jugglers, more – were asked to come out and perform.

The big question is when will the impending rain arrive, and whether that will keep down the number of performers out and about tonight.
