We found this funky little documentary on the YouTube and it caught our attention. Mountain Punks Fight Dirty is a documentary that shows us the underground music scene in Asheville. This is so underground that even Ashvegas was unfamiliar with the venue, El Nuevo, in our own backyard. It’s apparently the green buiding behind Harvest Records at 415 Haywood Road. We have no idea if this place still exists, but we saw a fairly recent blog posting about some music there.

Mountain Punks Fight Dirty is a documentary that provides a glimpse into the Asheville, North Carolina DIY underground. Featuring the Showcase, an evening of live performances by 14 of Ashevilles’ quintessential bands. These incredible performances are all churned with a heavy dose of grafitti and the thoughts of the El Nuevo volunteers! This clip features the performances of Dig Shovel Dig, Hope & Anchor, Wooden Tit, and the graffiti art of Butters and Rob Hunt.
