One of the biggest concert announcements of 2014 is the Outkast reunion tour, and fans of Moogfest 2014 are hoping the hip hop duo adds Asheville to its list of tour dates. @SocialLifeAVL expressed the sentiment of many on Monday:
Is it to late to add Outkast to @Moogfest?
It’s not out of the realm of possibility. Outkast has yet to announce other tour dates. On Monday, Outkast announced it would play more than 40 festivals around the world as part of the reunion tour.
Ingenious and iconic recording artists and performers, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and André “3000” Benjamin today announced via Outkast’s social media platforms that their return to the stage celebrating their 20th anniversary will include festival dates around the world. After headlining performances at Coachella in April, the influential group will be the marquee act at over 40 festivals around the world throughout the Spring/Summer of 2014 (dates to be announced).
“It’s truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose,” said Big Boi. “Don’t just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans – stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!”

Moogfest organizers said in their December music line-up announcement that more than 70 other acts are to be announced.
Also, at least one half of the duo – Big Boi – loves Asheville. He played the 2010 iteration of Moogfest and has played a couple of other times at The Orange Peel in Asheville since then. Check out Rolling Stone’s glowing review of Big Boi’s April 2013 concert in Asheville.
A week or so ago, Atlanta-based rap duo – one of the biggest hip hop acts of all time – announced it would reunite for a tour, and that the first stop would be the Coachella Valley Music and Festival in California. Outkast is scheduled to play the two Fridays of the two-weekend event. Moogfest is scheduled for April 23-27. Outkast has officially been on hiatus since 2007, but they’ve still been active.
All Moogfest fans can do is keep their eyes peeled and pray.
Counterpoint puts them three hours away on the same weekend. That makes it all that more likely.
It would be Mountain Oasis anyway. I don’t think Moogfest has the budget for these guys.
Not gonna happen- they have leaked an appearence at Counterpoint Music Festival the same weekend in their home state. Sorry but Moogfest looks overhyped and underbilled to me.
