Very cool. Press release here:

As American Craft Beer Week takes place May 17-23, an Asheville-based website kicks off contests to design a label for two new local brews.

Creative Allies, a new website that crowdsources art and design, hosts label-design contests for two new beers from Asheville Brewing: Backstage Betty and Escape Artist Ale.

Both contests include a $200 cash prize to the winning label designer. The winner of the Escape Artist Ale design contest also receives a $50 Asheville Brewing gift certificate.

Backstage Betty design submissions are due by June 23. Escape Artist Ale designs are due by June 29.

As well as beer labels, designers can also submit artwork for musician Jack Johnson, running contests for a t-shirt and world-tour poster, and for major festivals like Lollapalooza, running a contest to design an official 2010 t-shirt.

There’s no cost to use the site, and it’s free to request art or upload a design. Any band, business or non-profit can post a request for a t-shirt, poster, flyer, logo or other graphic, offer a cash prize, and select from the entries submitted.
