 Press release:

The fluidly athletic and culturally connected dance company Complexions Contemporary Ballet performs at 8:00p.m. Friday & Saturday, March 5 & 6 at the Diana Wortham Theatre at Pack Place in downtown Asheville. Founders and former Alvin Ailey dancers Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, along with their New York City-based company of sixteen dance thoroughbreds, have awakened audiences to a new, exciting genre that combines the best of athleticism, lyricism, technical training and experience. America recently experienced the choreography of Richardson and Rhoden when they appeared on the Fox television hit “So You Think You Can Dance,” having choreographed a duet for the program’s season finale. The company’s performances in Asheville are between appearances in Egypt and France as it makes an impression around the world and at home with its groundbreaking mix of methods, styles and cultures.

For its Asheville appearances, Complexions will perform three works. …

Pre-performance Discussions: Pre-performance discussions will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Forum at Pack Place before each Complexions Contemporary Ballet performance. Free for ticket holders.
