According to Malaprop’s, Idol runner-up Clay Aiken appears to sing a song in tribute to author T. Cooper. Cooper will discuss and sign his memoir, Real Man Adventures, about his female-to-male transition.

This is all pretty Asheville. Is it just me, or does T. Cooper look like a cross between Rob Murrow, Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman?

T_CooperFrom Malaprop’s:

In February 2011, The Believer published an essay by T Cooper called “So There’s This Man,” in which Cooper wrote about his experience telling his parents he wasn’t their daughter anymore. And that was the good news. The essay discussed his female-to-male transition, and all the assumptions (by others) and fears (of Cooper’s own) that accompanied that transition. The essay was honest and widely admired, and inspired T Cooper’s book, Real Man Adventures, which is at once groundbreaking, candid, very funny, occasionally sad, beautifully written and profoundly illuminating.Join us as T Cooper discusses his memoir. Booksigning to follow.

7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Malaprop’s bookstore downtown.

Your right Sasha! Jason if you ever refer to Ruben Studdard do not call him an American Idol. Thats 10 years ago! Pretty sure the “runner up” thing made Clay famous.

Too bad you insult him by labeling him a runner up. His name would do just as nicely. If you knew him at all you would know that it was 10 years ago. A lifetime in entertainment and he is so sick and tired of that sh*t.
